Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What is the difference between a conventional oven & a circa fan oven?

A conventional oven combines a top and bottom heating to provide a traditional cooking method with the oven hotter at the top. Circa fan forces air through heating elements and into the oven in 4 directions meaning food is cooked quickly and evenly in a parts.

  2. If I buy an induction hob will I need to buy new pans?

Not necessarily, however you do need ferrous metal pans on an induction hob so that when the zone is on the heat can transfer directly from the hob to the pan. There is an easy way to check your current pans, simply test the base with a magnet. If it sticks your pans should work.

  3. How do I stop the air from coming back into the room from my cooker hood?

You need ducting with a wall outlet box and non-return valve, which will stop the air returning. The larger the ducting, the less noise there will be and the better the rate of extraction. We advise at least 120mm diameter of ducting.

  4. How can I get odours out more quickly?

Try switching on the extractor hood a few minutes before you start cooking. This starts to circulate the air in the kitchen which will help remove odours.

  5. Do metal grease filters have to be changed?

They should be removed frequently for cleaning, and can be washed in a dishwasher.

  6. At what temperature should I keep the fridge compartment?

Between 0°c and 5°c. Any warmer and the food will go off, any colder fresh food can be ruined and nutrients lost.

  7. Is it worth going for an energy efficient fridge freezer?

Your cooling appliance is operating 24 hours a day. After central heating, refrigeration appliances are the biggest domestic users of energy because they are on all the time. When you're ready to replace a refrigeration appliance, it is worth looking for those rated A as they are energy efficient and relatively cheap to run.
